OUR STORY

Originally founded in the early 1900’s, we started out as a typical American homestead where Hatter Sarver grew cotton and vegetables alongside a small livestock herd of cattle and sheep for family and close friends. It wasn’t until his son, Louis Sarver, returned from serving the country in World War II that the farm developed into a commercial rice operation. That's the way it stayed until the mid-1980s when Louis's grandson, Chris Sarver, followed suit with other farmers in the area and started to harvest crawfish from the rice fields.
For over six generations, our operation has continued to expand with hard work and a little help from the fertile Louisiana soil. Rice has always been the staple crop that has allowed us to survive, but the diversification into crawfish, soybean, sheep, and beef is what will allow us to thrive as a family-owned business for generations to come. We strive to maintain our 100-year-old tradition of only providing products to the public that we ourselves would be privileged to put on our plate.
